About the paintings

The recent series of Buddha paintings emerged in 2007 following a visit to Cambodia which changed my life dramatically, and are part of my spiritual practice.  I use them as a working meditation with CD's of temple music, or Buddhist gongs, bells and chants playing in my studio.  Sometimes I work in silence. Since my return to Cambodia and my first visit to Myanmar in 2009 my practice has deepened and the paintings are evolving.
The Arum Lily paintings are part of a new series painted in 2010 when the lilies in my garden looked especially lovely.
